On November 23, 2012, the Ecumenical Memorial Service to commemorate victims of the Holodomor of 1932 - 1933 was held at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church - Kyiv Patriarchate in Tokyo.
The commemoration event was initiated by M.A. Kulinich, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Japan, attended by Ukrainian diplomatic mission staff and their families, as well as representatives of the local community and Ukrainian community abroad.
The requiem for the repose of the souls of all victims of Soviet genocide was served by Fr. Paul Koroluk, priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church - Kyiv Patriarchate.
Moreover, within the framework of the abovementioned event priest of the Holy Trinity Monastery of the Order Saint Benedict Fr. Thomas P. Wahl and priest of the St. Albans Anglican-Episcopal Church Fr. O. Andrew had read the prayers for all victims of Ukrainian famine.»
