The main purpose of the meeting – a discussion of the draft Agenda of the upcoming visit to Ukraine of the Ministry experts` delegation of Japan headed by the Parliamentary Senior Vice-Minister of the Environment to examine the lessons and experience gained by Ukrainian central authorities, experts and scientists on the mitigation of the Chernobyl accident consciences. //
The two counterparts noted a special character of the visit in the frame of intensification of the experts` dialogue and further promotion of the cooperation "Fukushima-Chernobyl”.
The Vice-Ministries stressed that the Government of Japan pays a particular attention to this visit, expecting that Ukrainian unique experience on overcoming the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster will help to minimize the effects of the "Fukushima-daiichi" accident and solve the major issues – to implement the adequate rehabilitation and decontamination measures at the contaminated areas and return to own homes evacuated in March, 2011 citizens.
