During the meeting the issues of bilateral inter-parliamentary relations were discussed. In this regard the both sides stressed on the important role of the Parliamentary Association of Friendship «Japan-Ukraine» for the development of bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation.

In the course of the meeting the Ambassador of Ukraine to Japan M.Kulinich stressed on the important role of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Japan in the development of not only inter-parliamentary cooperation but also the wide spectrum of bilateral relations, particularly on the issue of «Fukushima-Chornobyl».

In this regard M.Kulinich emphasized that political support of the House of Representatives was crucial in the process of starting cooperation between Japan and Ukraine in the sphere of elimination of the consequences of the nuclear power plants accidents and further conclusion of the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of Japan concerning cooperation to advance aftermath response to accidents at nuclear power stations.

B.Ibuki, in his turn, stressed on the importance of cooperation between official Tokyo and Kyiv in the sphere of overcoming the consequences of a nuclear accidents. He also noted the important personal role of the Ambassador of Ukraine to Japan in the realization of such cooperation.

Separately the sides discussed the development of sister-city relations between Kyiv and Kyoto (B.Ibuki was born in Kyoto). In this regard, the sides stressed on the importance of enhancing cooperation between the cities of Ukraine and Japan through the implementation of projects in the cultural, educational, scientific and other spheres.
