On August 9, 2011, in Fukushima (Japan), where Fukushima-1 recovery headquarters is located, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Japan M.A. Kulinich held the official ceremony of the Ukrainian humanitarian aid delivery to the Government of Japan and local authorities. The cargo was conveyed to the International Airport «Narita» on August 4 and consists of the radiation protection equipment, including individual dosimeters, dosimeter-radiometers, gas masks and accessories.
During the ceremony, Vice Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Mr. Tajima Kaname, on behalf of the Government of Japan expressed sincere gratitude to Ukraine for providing humanitarian assistance.
The Ambassador of Ukraine expressed his deep condolences and support to the all injured person and emphasized that the Government of Ukraine is ready to consider any further requests of the Japanese Party to assist in mitigating the aftermath of the Great East Japan earthquake, tsunami disaster and accident of the Nuclear Power Station.
