On January 23, 2020, the second round of Ukraine-Japanese cyber consultations were held in Tokyo. From the Ukrainian side, Mr. Serhii DEMEDIUK, Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Mr. Yehor BOZHOK, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, and other representatives from the relevant ministries and agencies took part in the consultations. The Japanese side was represented by Mr. Takeshi AKAHORI, Deputy Assistant Minister for Foreign Policy, Ambassador for International Security Policy and Cyber Policy, and other representatives from the relevant ministries and agencies.
In the consultations, while explaining their respective cyber strategy and structure, both sides exchanged opinions on recognitions of recent situations in cyberspace and specific measures in the field of cybersecurity and identified further areas of cooperation.
Ukraine and Japan reaffirmed their commitment to promoting an open, interoperable, reliable, and secure cyber space, and to enhancing bilateral cybersecurity cooperation on combatting cyber threats of mutual concern.
