On Monday, October 21 Vadym Prystaiko met in Tokyo with Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Toshimitsu Motegi.
During the meeting ministers confirmed the high level of partnership between Ukraine and Japan, emphasizing the readiness of both sides to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in political, economic, security, humanitarian and other spheres.
The ministers also discussed the security situation in Donbas and the initiatives of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on achieving progress in a peaceful settlement.
Vadym Prystaiko expressed gratitude to the Government of Japan for its consistent support of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, sweeping reforms in our country as well as financial, expert and humanitarian assistance.
Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine also invited Toshimitsu Motegi to pay an official visit to Ukraine.
Toshimitsu Motegi, in his turn, reaffirmed the official Tokyo’s position on supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan also stressed on the readiness of the Government of Japan to continue to provide necessary assistance in restoring peace and stability in Ukraine, implementing reforms and infrastructure projects in our country etc.
