On March 12, 2014 an extraordinary session of the NATO-Ukraine High Level Joint Working Group for Defence Reform has taken place at NATO Headquarters.
The meeting was held upon the decision of the North-Atlantic Council in the context of implementation of the relevant agreements, achieved by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mr. A.Yatsenyuk and NATO Secretary General Mr. A.F.Rasmussen.
In the course of the meeting the Ukrainian delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Mr. P.Mehed has agreed with NATO the list of short-, mid- and long-term activities aimed at strengthening the defence capacities of our state, as well as further assistance from NATO to conduct reforms of the defence sector and Armed Forces of Ukraine.
During the discussion the Allies have declared their support to the territorial integrity of Ukraine, condemned actions of the Russian Federation in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea of our state and confirmed their readiness to further intensive political and political-military consultations with Ukraine.
When having the bilateral meetings with the representatives of the Allied nations, the Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Mr. P.Mehed, has discussed, inter alia, the means for augmenting the efforts by NATO, aimed at reinforcement of the defence capacities of Ukraine, by means of correspondent bilateral interaction.
