On October 25th the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition about the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine was held at the library of Arise campus of the Kobe Gakuin University.
This event was attended by Ambassador of Ukraine to Japan I.Kharchenko, Rector of the Kobe Gakuin University M.Sato and Dean of the Faculty of Economics of the said institution H.Ban.
Rector M.Sato noted that it was essential to study history in order to understand the present, and expressed hope to visit Ukraine at the earliest opportunity. Ambassador of Ukraine I.Kharchenko: "This year marks the 85th anniversary of the Holodomor, therefore this exhibition is very important for honoring the memory of the deceased and understanding the history of our state."
On the first day the exhibition was attended by over 250 people. It will be open during one month, until November 25th, 2018.
