On January 26, 2017 the solemn ceremony of handing over the Order of Princess Olga (third class) to Executive Director of the Chernobyl Children’s Fund of Japan Mari Sasaki was held at the Embassy of Ukraine in Japan.

Presenting the high award on behalf of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Ambassador of Ukraine to Japan Ihor Kharchenko thanked Mari Sasaki and all personnel of the Chernobyl Children’s Fund of Japan for their significant contribution to the support of Ukrainian children affected by the Chernobyl accident. Ambassador also said that he was particularly pleased to present this high award on the date when Ukraine and Japan celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
