‪During the press conference, Ambassador Kharchenko informed journalists about the current situation in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and in the east regions of Ukraine in the context of the Russian aggression. He stressed on the continuous violation of the Minsk agreements by Russia and urged all democratic community to join efforts with the aim to release political prisoners illegally detained in the Russian prisons, in particular member of the Parliament of Ukraine Nadiya Savchenko, etc.

Ambassador Kharchenko has also replied to the questions regarding the Russian aggression against Ukraine, the efficiency of international sanctions against Russia, internal developments and the pace of reforms in Ukraine and others.
About 60 Japanese and foreign correspondents took part in the press conference at the Japanese National Press Club which is considered as one of the most respectful media platforms in Japan.
