On September 15th 2010 the Embassy of Ukraine in Japan has held the constituent assembly of the new Japanese-Ukrainian Business Council. The newly formed organizational structure is designed to promote economic ties between Ukraine and Japan, attracting investment resources in Ukraine and promotion of products of Japanese exporters on the Ukrainian market.
To the Chairman position of the Business сouncil was elected politicians and financial expert, Mr. H. Yanagisawa. He was the founder and head of the Japanese-Ukrainian Parliamentary Friendship Association for many years and held senior ministerial posts, including Ministry of fiscal policy of Japan and repeatedly elected as member of parliament of Japan from the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan.
In the leadership of the Japanese-Ukrainian Business council includes heads of leading Japanese companies and banks, such as "Japan Tobacco", “JFE Steel”, “Mitsubishi Heavy Industries”, “Japan Bank for International Cooperation”, “New energy and Industrial technology development organization (NEDO)” and others.
The Ambassador of Ukraine in Japan Mykola Kulinich made opening speech.
