On Monday, March 2, Pavlo Klimkin met with Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe. During the meeting Shinzo Abe and Pavlo Klimkin confirmed the high level of partnership between states, discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in political, economic, humanitarian and others spheres, interaction in the international arena, including in the sphere of combating terrorism.
Pavlo Klimkin expressed gratitude to the Government of Japan for its continuous support of Ukraine in defending sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state. Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine also reiterated the invitation of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to the Prime Minister of Japan to visit Ukraine in the near future which was accepted with gratitude.
Shinzo Abe reconfirmed the official Tokyo’s position on support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Prime Minister of Japan also stressed that the Government of Japan was ready to provide necessary assistance in restoring peace and stability in Ukraine and further implementing of the economic reforms.
