Ambassador of Ukraine to Japan Mykola Kulinich made a working visit to Hiroshima on the invitation of the Japanese nongovernmental organization – Association «Stone of Hiroshima for peace».
On November 22, in the framework of the visit, the Ambassador of Ukraine visited the Peace Memorial Museum dedicated to nuclear explosion in 1945 and its consequences. He laid a wreath on the memorial to the victims of the bombing.
During the meeting of Ambassador of Ukraine with the Vice-mayor of Hiroshima Mr. Miyake which was organized within the framework of visit, the efforts of Japan with regard to the implementation of idea of free nuclear world, in particular Mayor of Hiroshima Mr. Akiba, were highly appreciated.
Ambassador of Ukraine also conveyed the letter of the Rector of National Technical University of Ukraine «Kyiv Polytechnic Institute» Dr.Mykhailo Zgurovskyi with gratitude for beginning from the Japanese side the “Hiroshima-Nagasaki: Peace Study Course”.
The leadership of city administration of Hiroshima expressed its gratitude towards the four Ukrainian cities for their active participation in the world movement “Mayors for Peace”.
