On June 28th we invite everyone to join second annual Tokyo Ukraine Parade.
First held in 2013, the Tokyo Ukraine Parade is informally connected to a serious of worldwide “Vyshyvanka” (traditional Ukrainian embroidery) cultural parades held in cities in Ukraine and throughout the world. In Tokyo, participants, many dressed in Ukrainian embroidered national costumes, will gather Mizutanibashi Park in Ginza at 1:00 p.m., and parade through Tokyo ending at Hibiya Park, where an informal celebration will continue. Although intended as a celebration of Ukraine’s traditional culture, this year’s parade will have a deeper meaning for many participants due to the ongoing violence and occupation in parts of Ukraine.
